ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP Scholarships: Your Generosity in Action

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP Scholarship Recipients

Every year, hundreds of ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP students receive scholarships that help them persist through challenges and stay on track. In this Impact report, we highlight two programs in particular that help students stay enrolled and focused on the future.

Finish Line Scholars

Thanks to the Jay Pritzker Foundation, the Finish Line Scholars program helps students nearing completion of a certificate, degree, or transfer goal. At ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP, the Foundation awarded students between $1,000–$3,000 for up to two semesters to support tuition, books, and basic needs—and encourage degree or certificate completion or transfer to a fouryear college or university.

Osher Foundation Scholarships

The Bernard Osher Foundation, through the Foundation for California Community Colleges, continues to support students who demonstrate both financial need and academic success. This endowed scholarship fund provides vital financial assistance and encourages long-term educational success, ensuring that these students can continue their education and achieve their academic goals.

Welcoming New Neighbors, Changing Lives

Jorge, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP Student

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP students are stepping up to help newly-arrived refugees feel at home. Through the Good Neighbor Teams partnerships with World Relief and International Rescue Committee, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP students assist refugee families with transportation, school enrollment, language learning, and navigating life in a new country, giving them immediate friendship and a feeling of safety and security.

“We’re guiding them through the whole process of enrolling in school, rolling into the system, and getting their benefits here. You’re building a strong relationship that will help them feel safe and welcome and give them a whole new experience that we at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP welcome them with our hearts open.â€

– Noorin, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP Student and Senator“We had a dinner night with the family… and shared different aspects of our life. This also helped me learn how I can help immigrants, how I can solve problems, and how I can be a better person in the lives of other people.â€
